LE SNAP DU DIMANCHE : SEMAINE 10 DE LA LCF 2026
Un choc au sommet qui vire au récital, un vétéran de 40 ans qui rejoint un club très sélect, un retour au bercail attendu depuis 306 jours et un botté de placement à la toute dernière minute au bord du Pacifique : la dixième semaine de la LCF n'a pas manqué de scénarios.
À Montréal, Tyson Philpot et Davis Alexander ont réglé leurs comptes avec Edmonton. À Regina, Trevor Harris a franchi le cap des 40 000 yards en carrière pendant que Tommy Stevens enfilait un troisième tour du chapeau au sol de sa saison. À Toronto, les Argonauts ont survécu à quatre interceptions pour rouvrir le BMO Field en beauté. Et à Vancouver, le retour de Nathan Rourke a permis aux Lions de gagner une deuxième fois de suite. Winnipeg était en congé.
Alouettes de Montréal 48, Elks d'Edmonton 30

Le premier contre le premier, ça devait être serré. Ça ne l'a pas été bien longtemps.
Devant une foule bruyante et par une chaleur humide de 28 degrés, les Alouettes ont infligé aux Elks une correction de 48-30 et vengé du même coup leur unique défaite de la saison, un revers de 32-29 en prolongation subi à la semaine 3. Montréal grimpe à 8-1 et signe une sixième victoire d'affilée.
Tyson Philpot a été de nouveau impossible à couvrir : 10 réceptions, 131 yards et trois touchdowns, dont un bijou de 56 yards au quatrième quart où il s'est ajusté autour d'un défenseur pour attraper le ballon. Davis Alexander a livré son huitième match de 300 yards en neuf sorties — 22 en 28 pour 352 yards, quatre touchdowns par la passe, un autre au sol et une interception. Tyler Snead a ajouté 146 yards à la réception, et Travis Theis a franchi les 100 yards au sol.
Le premier quart, dominé par les deux meilleures défenses du circuit, s'est débloqué sur les unités spéciales : Kylan Guidry a bloqué un botté de dégagement et Donovan Manuel a récupéré au centre du terrain, avant qu'Alexander ne file 10 yards jusque dans la zone des buts.
Cody Fajardo a répliqué avec une plongée d'un yard qui a fait de lui le neuvième joueur de l'histoire de la ligue à cumuler 100 touchdowns par la passe et 50 au sol. Deux interceptions de Tyrell Ford en première demie ont maintenu Edmonton dans le coup, la seconde menant au touchdown de Joshua Cephus qui a créé l'égalité 14-14.
Mais la deuxième demie a appartenu aux Alouettes. Kabion Ento a arraché le ballon des mains de son ancien coéquipier Austin Mack dès la reprise, et deux jeux plus tard Alexander trouvait Snead pour 32 yards. Tyrice Beverette a ensuite intercepté Fajardo, Jose Maltos a converti un placement de 38 yards, et la bombe de 56 yards à Philpot a scellé le tout à 41-18.
Edmonton a sauvé l'honneur tard : Mack a terminé avec neuf attrapés pour 110 yards et un touchdown de 33 yards, et la recrue Carter Kettyle a inscrit son premier TD en carrière sur une passe de six yards du réserviste Taylor Powell. Fajardo a conclu avec 231 yards et 21 sur 35. Les Elks encaissent un deuxième revers de suite.

Privés de Samuel Emilus, de Kian Schaffer-Baker, d'A.J. Ouellette et de deux partants sur la ligne offensive, les champions de la Coupe Grey n'ont pas semblé s'en formaliser une seconde.
Trevor Harris, 40 ans, a complété 30 de ses 38 passes pour 401 yards et est devenu le 12e quarterback de l'histoire de la LCF à dépasser les 40 000 yards par la passe en carrière.
Il en compte désormais 40 352, à seulement 182 de Tracy Ham (40 534) et du 11e rang. L'entraîneur-chef Corey Mace a tenu à souligner le moment après la rencontre, même s'il sait très bien que son QB déteste parler de statistiques personnelles.
Le vétéran KeeSean Johnson a fait le gros du travail avec 11 catches pour 133 yards et un touchdown capté avec sept secondes à faire à la demie. Les nouveaux venus ont fait le reste : Johnny Johnson III (7 réceptions, 117 yards), D'Sean Mimbs (6 réceptions, 84 yards) et Dylan Djete, à son premier départ dans la LCF, qui a inscrit son premier touchdown en carrière sur une réception de 18 yards pour lancer la poussée du troisième quart. Une transformation de deux points a porté la marque à 21-14.
Puis est venu le temps de Tommy. Tommy Stevens, le spécialiste des courtes distances, a inscrit trois touchdowns au sol au quatrième quart — d'un, de six et de sept yards — une semaine à peine après en avoir marqué trois contre Edmonton. Il mène maintenant la ligue avec 11 touchdowns au sol.
Du coté d'Ottawa, Jake Maier, qui portait l'uniforme vert la saison dernière, a connu un bon match dans la défaite : 31 en 43 pour 339 yards, deux touchdowns et une interception, un troisième match consécutif à plus de 300 yards.
Bryson Barnes a inscrit un touchdown sur une plongée d'un yard, Keelan White a capté une passe de sept yards de Maier, et Ayden Eberhardt a mené les receveurs avec huit prises pour 99 yards. Rien n'y a fait : les Redblacks glissent à 0-8.

Argonauts de Toronto 33, Stampeders de Calgary 30

Trois cent six jours. C'est le temps qu'il aura fallu attendre pour les Argonauts pour rejouer à la maison, le BMO Field ayant accueilli six matchs de la Coupe du monde de la FIFA. Devant 16 160 spectateurs, ils ont offert un final complètement fou.
Chad Kelly a lancé quatre interceptions. Il a aussi lancé pour 349 yards en 30 réussites sur 43, et surtout, il n'a jamais reculé.
« Si je ne suis pas agressif, ils vont finir par m'appeler Checkdown Charlie », a-t-il lancé après la rencontre.
Damonte Coxie a été sa cible favorite avec huit réceptions pour 161 yards, un sommet cette saison.
Le début de match a été un festival d'échappés et de revirements : Sam Hicks a perdu le ballon dès le premier jeu, puis la première passe de Kelly a été interceptée.
Calgary a converti la première erreur en touchdown grâce à une plongée d'un yard de Quincy Vaughn. Hicks s'est racheté avec un touchdown de cinq yards par la réception, avant que Janarion Grant ne ramène un botté de dégagement sur 64 yards jusque dans la zone des buts.
La défense des Stampeders a forcé cinq revirements — quatre interceptions et un fumble recouvert. Adrian Greene a devancé Kevin Mital pour un retour d'interception de 67 yards, et Ben Labrosse en a volé deux. De l'autre côté, Tarvarus McFadden a mis fin à la séquence de 299 tentatives sans interception de Vernon Adams Jr., qui a finalement terminé la soirée avec 159 yards, aucun touchdown par la passe, deux interceptions — ses premières de la saison — et un touchdown de six yards à la course.
Le quatrième quart a été un échange de coups. Hicks a filé 40 yards pour donner les devants aux Argos, Jude McAtamney a créé l'égalité 30-30 avec un placement de 46 yards, puis Bubba Bolden a stoppé Dedrick Mills sur un troisième et un au centre. Kelly a rejoint Coxie pour 31 yards, et Brady Lidster — auteur de quatre field goals dans le match, dont un de 52 yards à la fin de la demie — a réussi celui de 11 yards avec 11 secondes à écouler. Sur le dernier jeu, Benjie Franklin a intercepté la passe désespérée d'Adams Jr.

Lions de la Colombie-Britannique 27, Tiger-Cats de Hamilton 24

Le retour de Nathan Rourke valait le détour. Absent trois matchs en raison d'une blessure à l'épaule, le joueur par excellence de la LCF en titre a lancé pour 370 yards et deux touchdowns avec 22 passes compétées sur 39, et les Lions ont enchaîné une deuxième victoire consécutive, 27-24.
Zander Horvath a poursuivi sa séquence torride avec deux touchdowns — un de sept yards par la réception dès la première séquence offensive, puis une course d'un yard au troisième quart qui l'a fait atteindre le plateau des 10 majeurs en 2026. Il a aussi porté le ballon 16 fois pour 62 yards. Le jeu le plus spectaculaire de la soirée est venu d'un flea flicker : Rourke a trouvé Justin McInnis pour un touchdown de 82 yards. McInnis a terminé avec 159 yards, et Jevon Cottoy a capté ses sept cibles pour 109 yards.
Hamilton n'a jamais lâché prise. Pour son premier départ dans la LCF, Harrison Frost a complété 20 de ses 33 passes pour 239 yards, avec un touchdown de cinq yards à Kurleigh Gittens Jr. et une interception. Le quarterback de situation Jake Dolegala a inscrit deux touchdowns sur des plongées d'un yard, le second créant l'égalité 24-24 au quatrième quart après une interception de Jamal Peters sur un ballon dévié par les doigts de Keon Hatcher Sr.
Rourke a alors orchestré une séquence de 11 jeux et 69 yards, avec des premiers jeux obtenus grâce à McInnis et Cottoy, pour installer Sean Whyte.
Le botteur a réussi de 24 yards avec 30 secondes à faire. Marc Liegghio a eu la chance de jouer les héros à son tour, mais sa tentative de 57 yards est passée à côté.

L'état des lieux après 10 semaines
Montréal (8-1) file toujours en solitaire au sommet du circuit et n'a plus perdu depuis la semaine 3. Dans l'Ouest, le carrousel continue : Saskatchewan (6-2) reprend la tête, Edmonton (6-3) glisse au deuxième rang après deux revers de suite, Calgary (4-5) recule pendant que Winnipeg (4-4), en congé, regarde tout ça de loin.
Les Lions de Colombie-Britannique (3-5) sont toujours en vie.
A l'Est, Toronto (4-4) se replace, Hamilton (3-6) recule, et Ottawa cherche encore une première victoire à 0-8.
La semaine 11 s'ouvre dès le jeudi 13 août avec la visite des Lions à Calgary, suivie d'Ottawa à Winnipeg le vendredi 14, puis d'un doublé le samedi 15 : Toronto à Edmonton et la Saskatchewan à Hamilton. Les Alouettes seront en congé. Le Snap du dimanche vous y attendra.

A top-of-the-table clash that turned into a showcase, a 40-year-old veteran joining a very select club, a homecoming 306 days in the making and a last-minute field goal on the Pacific coast: Week 10 of the CFL was not short on storylines.
In Montreal, Tyson Philpot and Davis Alexander settled the score with Edmonton. In Regina, Trevor Harris crossed the 40,000-yard mark for his career while Tommy Stevens ran in his second hat trick of the season. In Toronto, the Argonauts survived four interceptions to reopen BMO Field in style. And in Vancouver, the return of Nathan Rourke gave the Lions back-to-back wins. Winnipeg was on a bye.
Montreal Alouettes 48, Edmonton Elks 30

First place against first place was supposed to be tight. It wasn't for very long.
In front of a rowdy crowd and in humid, 28 C heat, the Alouettes handed the Elks a 48-30 beating and avenged their only loss of the season, a 32-29 overtime defeat back in Week 3. Montreal climbs to 8-1 with a sixth straight win.
Tyson Philpot was uncoverable once again: 10 catches, 131 yards and three touchdowns, including a gem of a 56-yard grab in the fourth quarter on which he adjusted around a defender to reel the ball in. Davis Alexander delivered his eighth 300-yard game in nine outings, going 22-of-28 for 352 yards with four passing touchdowns, another on the ground and an interception. Tyler Snead added 146 receiving yards, and Travis Theis went over 100 yards rushing.
The first quarter, dominated by the league's two best defences, finally broke open on special teams: Kylan Guidry blocked a punt and Donovan Manuel recovered at midfield before Alexander scrambled 10 yards into the end zone.
Cody Fajardo answered with a one-yard dive that made him the ninth player in league history with 100 passing touchdowns and 50 rushing touchdowns. Two Tyrell Ford interceptions in the first half kept Edmonton in it, the second setting up the Joshua Cephus touchdown that tied the game at 14-14.

Tyrice Beverette then picked off Fajardo, Jose Maltos converted a 38-yard field goal, and the 56-yard bomb to Philpot put it away at 41-18.
Edmonton salvaged some pride late: Mack finished with nine catches for 110 yards and a 33-yard touchdown, and rookie Carter Kettyle scored his first career major on a six-yard pass from backup Taylor Powell. Fajardo wrapped up with 231 yards on 21-of-35 passing. The Elks have now dropped two in a row.

He now sits at 40,352, just 182 behind Tracy Ham (40,534) for 11th place. Head coach Corey Mace made a point of marking the milestone after the game, even though he knows full well his QB has no interest in talking about personal statistics.

Three hundred and six days. That's how long the Argonauts had to wait to play at home again, with BMO Field having hosted six FIFA World Cup matches. In front of 16,160 spectators, they served up an absolutely wild finish.
Chad Kelly threw four interceptions. He also threw for 349 yards on 30-of-43 passing, and above all, he never backed down.
"If I'm not aggressive, then they might start calling me Checkdown Charlie," he said after the game.
Damonte Coxie was his favourite target with eight catches for 161 yards, a season high.
The start of the game was a festival of fumbles and turnovers: Sam Hicks lost the ball on the very first play, then Kelly's first pass was intercepted.
Calgary turned the first mistake into a touchdown on a one-yard dive by Quincy Vaughn. Hicks made up for it with a five-yard receiving touchdown, before Janarion Grant took a punt back 64 yards to the house.
The Stampeders' defence forced five turnovers: four interceptions and a fumble recovery. Adrian Greene jumped in front of Kevin Mital for a 67-yard interception return, and Ben Labrosse stole two. On the other side, Tarvarus McFadden ended the streak of 299 attempts without an interception by Vernon Adams Jr., who finished the night with 159 yards, no passing touchdowns, two interceptions (his first of the season) and a six-yard rushing touchdown.

Kelly hit Coxie for 31 yards, and Brady Lidster, who made four field goals in the game including a 52-yarder at the end of the half, knocked through an 11-yarder with 11 seconds on the clock. On the final play, Benjie Franklin intercepted the Hail Mary from Adams Jr.

BC Lions 27, Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24

The return of Nathan Rourke was worth the trip. Out three games with a shoulder injury, the reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player threw for 370 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-39 passing, and the Lions strung together a second straight win, 27-24.
Zander Horvath kept his hot streak going with two touchdowns, a seven-yard catch on the opening drive and then a one-yard run in the third quarter that took him to double digits in majors for 2026. He also carried 16 times for 62 yards. The most spectacular play of the night came on a flea flicker: Rourke found Justin McInnis for an 82-yard touchdown. McInnis finished with 159 yards, and Jevon Cottoy caught all seven of his targets for 109 yards.

Rourke then orchestrated an 11-play, 69-yard drive, with first downs picked up by McInnis and Cottoy, to set up Sean Whyte. The kicker converted from 24 yards with 30 seconds left. Marc Liegghio had his own chance to play hero, but his 57-yard attempt sailed wide.

Where things stand after 10 weeks
Montreal (8-1) is still rolling alone atop the league and hasn't lost since Week 3. In the West, the carousel keeps spinning: Saskatchewan (6-2) reclaims first, Edmonton (6-3) slides to second after two straight losses, Calgary (4-5) drops back while Winnipeg (4-4), on a bye, watches it all from a distance.
The BC Lions (3-5) are still alive.
In the East, Toronto (4-4) is back in the mix, Hamilton (3-6) is fading, and Ottawa is still hunting a first win at 0-8.
Week 11 opens Thursday, August 13 with the Lions visiting Calgary, followed by Ottawa at Winnipeg on Friday the 14th, then a doubleheader on Saturday the 15th: Toronto at Edmonton and Saskatchewan at Hamilton. The Alouettes are on a bye. The Sunday Snap will be waiting.
