SEATTLE — Après près de deux ans d’absence, les Washington Huskies signent leur retour dans le prestigieux classement AP Top 25, à la 24e place du sondage de la semaine 10. Une consécration méritée pour un programme revitalisé par Jedd Fisch, qui a su redonner à Seattle une identité compétitive et spectaculaire.


Vainqueurs 42–25 d’Illinois, les Huskies affichent désormais un bilan de 6–2 (2–3 Big Ten) et réintègrent le classement pour la première fois depuis janvier 2023, lorsqu’ils étaient classés n°2 avant la finale nationale face à Michigan. Cette remontée s’explique par la montée en puissance du quarterback freshman Demond Williams Jr., mais aussi par la constance du trio offesnif "explsoif"qu'il forme avec Denzel Boston et Jonah Coleman.

Boston s’est imposé comme la principale cible aérienne de Williams Jr., enchaînant les réceptions spectaculaires et les touchdowns décisifs, tandis que Coleman apporte un équilibre précieux au sol grâce à sa puissance et sa vision.


La Big Ten, plus relevée que jamais, compte désormais cinq représentants dans le Top 25 : Ohio State (1er), Oregon (6e), USC (20e), Michigan (21e) et Washington (24e).

Les Huskies se rendront à Wisconsin la semaine prochaine, avant de retrouver le Husky Stadium le 15 novembre pour affronter Purdue. Deux tests cruciaux pour confirmer que Washington n’est pas seulement de retour dans le classement, mais bien dans la course aux grands rendez-vous.

WASHINGTON RETURNS TO THE AP TOP 25, RANKED NO. 24 AFTER WIN OVER ILLINOIS

SEATTLE — After nearly two years away, the Washington Huskies have made their return to the prestigious AP Top 25, coming in at No. 24 in the Week 10 poll. It’s a well-deserved recognition for a program revitalized under head coach Jedd Fisch, who has restored a competitive and dynamic identity to Seattle.


Following their 42–25 win over Illinois, the Huskies now sit at 6–2 (2–3 Big Ten) and re-enter the rankings for the first time since January 2023, when they were ranked No. 2 ahead of the national championship game against Michigan. This resurgence has been driven by the steady emergence of freshman quarterback Demond Williams Jr., along with the consistency of the explosive offensive trio he forms with wide receiver Denzel Boston and running back Jonah Coleman.


Boston has established himself as Williams Jr.’s top aerial target, piling up highlight-reel catches and clutch touchdowns, while Coleman brings much-needed balance to the ground game with his strength and vision.


The Big Ten, stronger than ever, now features five teams in the Top 25 — Ohio State (1), Oregon (6), USC (20), Michigan (21), and Washington (24).

The Huskies will travel to Wisconsin next week before returning to Husky Stadium on November 15 to host Purdue — two pivotal matchups that will test whether Washington is merely back in the rankings, or truly back among the nation’s contenders.
