OXFORD, Mississippi — Pour sa toute première apparition en College Football Playoff, les Ole Miss Rebels n’ont laissé aucune place au doute. Devant son public du Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, le programme du Mississippi a surclassé les Tulane Green Wave 41–10 samedi après-midi, validant avec autorité son billet pour le tour suivant.

The tone was set from the opening drive. In just three plays and 59 seconds, Kewan Lacy burst straight through the heart of the defense for a 20-yard touchdown. On Tulane’s ensuing possession, Jaylon Braxton intercepted Jake Retzlaff, giving the home offense prime field position. Trinidad Chambliss then capped a short drive with a 4-yard rushing score, putting Ole Miss up 14–0 less than seven minutes into the game.
Tulane showed an ability to move the ball but failed to capitalize on its opportunities. A 39-yard field goal by Patrick Durkin cut the deficit to 14–3 early in the second quarter, before Lucas Carneiro restored some breathing room for the Rebels with a 42-yard kick. Coming out of the locker room, the game swung decisively. Back after a brief injury scare, Chambliss found De’Zhaun Stribling in the end zone to cap an 80-yard drive. The Rebels quarterback finished the game with 282 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and two rushing touchdowns, fully embodying his team’s control of the contest.
The fourth quarter merely confirmed the home side’s dominance, with rushing touchdowns by Logan Diggs from three yards out and Chambliss from eight yards, the latter following a turnover on downs forced by the defense. Tulane salvaged some pride late, as Retzlaff connected with Justyn Reid on an 80-yard drive for a touchdown.
